mthread(ADM)

mthread -- show multithreaded drivers and line disciplines

Syntax

/etc/mthread [ -bclms ]

Description

mthread displays multithreaded device drivers and line disciplines that are currently configured and running in the UNIX system kernel.

mthread accepts the following options:

-b
Display multithreaded block device drivers.

-c
Display multithreaded character device drivers.

-l
Display multithreaded line disciplines.

-m
Display multithreaded STREAMS modules.

-s
Display multithreaded SCSI adapter drivers.

Exit values

mthread exits with 0 upon successful completion; it exits with 1 on error.

Diagnostics

mthread displays the following messages on error:

mthread: cannot open /dev/at1
The control device node for the ci driver is missing. Run idmknod(ADM) to recreate it.

mthread: cannot determine multithreaded drivers
The currently booted kernel does not support mthread. Relink and reboot with the ci kernel module configured into the Link Kit.

Limitations

mthread is intended for use with multiprocessor systems only. It requires the ci driver to be configured into the kernel, and will not work with older versions of this driver.

Multithreaded drivers will not appear in the output of mthread until they have been opened and they have registered themselves as multithreaded.
