Troubleshooting the installation

Errors when using USB installation devices

If you attach or remove a USB device (including hubs) during the course of the installation, you may experience problems. Make sure that all USB devices required during the installation -- including CD-ROM drives, LS-120 drives, or floppy drives from which you will install SCO OpenServer, and storage devices, such as hard drives or Zip or Jaz drives, onto which you will install SCO OpenServer -- are attached to the computer before you turn it on to begin the installation. Leave all USB devices in place until the installation is finished.

USB floppy drives and USB LS-120 drives cannot be used as boot devices because the USB drivers are only available from the installation image provided on the SCO OpenServer System CD-ROM.
