The following utilities are available for troubleshooting NIS. See their reference manual pages for complete information.
|ypcat(NC)||displays the contents of an NIS map.|
|ypmatch(NC)||prints the value for one or more specified keys in an NIS map.|
|yppoll(NADM)||asks any NIS server for information about a map that it holds internally.|
|ypwhich(NADM)||tells you which NIS server an NIS client is currently using for NIS, or which NIS server is master of a named map.|
|rpcinfo(NADM)||displays RPC information from a specified RPC server. Use rpcinfo to check whether portmapper, ypbind, and (for NIS servers) ypserv are running. If exporting filesystems, the mountd service should be registered.|
|ping(ADMN)||reports roundtrip time and packet loss statistics. Use ping to ensure a network connection can be made between hosts.|
