accton(ADM)


accton -- turn on accounting

Syntax

/usr/lib/acct/accton [ file ]

Description

accton turns process accounting on and off. If no file is given then accounting is turned off. If file is given, the kernel appends process accounting records. (See acct(S) and acct(FP)).

used for login name to user ID conversions

/usr/adm/pacct
current process accounting file

/usr/adm/sulogin
super user login history file

/etc/wtmp
login/logout history file
