Applications need to know about the services available on a network and the address through which their services can be accessed. SAP agents maintain this information in the server information table. It provides clients with the addresses of all the servers on the internetwork. For more information about the server information table, see ``Service advertising''.
track can monitor the current state of the server information table. The NetWare SAP Monitor and showsvcs can list selected information from the server information table that you can use to monitor and validate the network names, addresses, and services offered by servers on the network.
To display the information currently in
the server information table,
run track with the command line:
track tables
track writes the contents of the server information table to /etc/ipx.d/sapd.out.
The output from track looks like this:
