System name
The ``system name'' (``host name'') should be unique
on the network.
It can consist of lowercase letters and numbers, must begin with a
letter, and should be no longer than eight characters.
mail and other programs use the system name to identify
the correct data destination.
Some sample valid machine names are
scosysv, tcpdev, and account1.
