Selecting an area

You must select an area before you can copy, cut, delete, duplicate, or move it.

To select the entire picture, select Select All from the Edit menu.
To select part of your picture:
1. Select the Select Area tool from the tool palette. See ``Selecting a drawing tool'' for instructions.
2. Move the pointer to the beginning of the area you want to select, then drag diagonally. A dotted black-and-white rectangle appears in the area you are selecting.

NOTE: If you want to shrink the selection area to the outer perimeters of one object, drag the selection rectangle with mouse button 3. The Palette Button 3 color must be the same as the background color for this to work. See ``Using the Color Palette'' for instructions on changing the Palette Button colors.
