Building a shared library

This section of the chapter explains how to build a shared library. It covers the major steps in the building process, the use of the UNIX system tool mkshlib(CP) that builds the host and target libraries, and some guidelines for writing shared library code. An example is provided to demonstrate the building process.

This section makes the following assumptions:
