nvtd(PADM)
nvtd --
handle requests from clients to connect to NVT server
Syntax
nvtd
[-v]
Description
nvtd(PADM)
is the Novell Virtual Terminal (NVT) daemon.
It receives NVT requests (connect, disconnect, and data) from
clients, and handles the terminal emulation for each connection.
The Network Configuration Manager allows you to set the maximum
number of simultaneous NVT connections, and to specify a file from
which nvtd prints login banners.
These configuration parameters are documented in
``NVT logins'' in Configuring Network Connections
and
``NVT login banner file'' in Configuring Network Connections.
nvtd reads the file /etc/ipx.d/NPSConfig for its
configuration information.
The NVT protocol is implemented in the kernel and
does not involve nvtd.
Its configuration parameters are found in the file
/etc/conf/pack.d/nvt/nvt_tune.h.
nvtd is started by
npsd(PADM)
at system start-up time.
nvtd takes the following option:
-v-
Turns on verbose mode, so that nvtd prints the version number, the
banner file it is using for login, and all login requests it receives.
Files
/etc/nvtd-

/etc/conf/pack.d/nvt/nvt_tune.h-
